West Indies Cricket Squad For T20 World Cup 2024

West Indies Cricket Squad, led by Rovman Powell, is preparing for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 with a powerful side. Johnson Charles, Brandon King, and Shai Hope will anchor the top order and provide a solid foundation.

However, the Windies truly flourish in the middle and lower orders, with a plethora of explosive hitters and versatile all-rounders. Players such as Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, Shimron Hetmyer, Jason Holder, Sherfane Rutherford, and Romario Shepherd add depth and firepower to the batting order, boosting the West Indies to the tournament’s top rank.

West Indies has a well-balanced bowling assault for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Akeal Hossain and Gudakesh Motie are spinners who bring variation and control in middle overs.

Vice-captain Joseph leads the pace department, which is supported by Shamar Joseph, a bright talent. Shamar, who impressed during his Test debut against Australia, is now poised to make an impact in T20Is, adding depth to the pace battery. Rovman Powell(c) – Rovman Powell, a seasoned T20 cricket player, takes up the leadership role of West Indies Cricket Squad for T20 World Cup 2024. His outstanding form since 2023 has been a driving force behind his team’s success, with 422 runs in just 15 innings at a startling average of 35.2 and a blistering strike rate of 172.2. Powell’s T20 World Cup journey has been rather limited, with only three innings played thus far.

Brandon King – Brandon King, known for his aggressive mindset as an opening batter, will be responsible for setting the tone for the West Indies team. His brief appearance in the World Cup, comprising only two innings, produced 79 runs, demonstrating his ability to deliver impactful performances. 

Johnson Charles – Johnson Charles, another seasoned campaigner at the top of the order, has extensive experience and firepower.

Romario Shepherd – Romario Shepherd emerges as another talented all-rounder for the West Indies, capable of making significant contributions with both the bat and ball.

Shepherd, who bats at number eight gives depth to the team’s batting lineup by clearing the ropes and providing important runs down the order. Furthermore, his ability to pick up wickets, as proven by 16 scalps in 12 T20Is since 2023, reinforces his value as a versatile addition to the side.

Akeal Hosein – Akeal Hosein’s left-arm spin bowling gives the side a strategic advantage, as he is frequently deployed during powerplay overs to keep opposition batters under pressure.
